uConnect offers a set of Microsoft services for authentication, authorization, email, instant messaging, screen sharing and voice and video conferencing. The services are available to faculty, staff and students. uConnect hosts over 29,000 mailboxes in Exchange Online and allows logon services for all affiliates with campus computing accounts. Academic and administrative units may leverage uConnect's Active Directory for management of systems, users, and groups.
Exchange Online (Office 365): Email and Calendar service via desktop clients, mobile devices, and on the web.
Teams: Voice/Video conferencing, screen sharing, presence and chat features.
Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS): Authentication and Authorization services for cloud/web applications.
Office 365 Apps: Access to Microsoft's Online Suite of applications including Word Online, Excel Online, OneDrive for Business, OneNote, Planner, and others.
There are a few distribution groups uConnect uses to communicate with the campus community:
uConnect-Admins@ucdavis.edu - Only the uConnect Enterprise Admins can send to this list and is used for official communications about uConnect services.
uConnect-Share@ucdavis.edu - This is meant to be a group that any of the uConnect admins can use to share ideas/concerns/ and general, non-support questions about the service.
uConnect-Help@ucdavis.edu - This is the official uConnect support group. If there are any support issues with our service that require resolution, please send an email here and IT Express and/or the uConnect Enterprise Administrators will be in touch shortly.
