Quality Assurance/Software test investigates the proposed IT solution against the business needs. It includes tracing technical specifications to business and functional requirements, developing and executing test plans on a system prior to production release, regression testing and post-release verification. Methods can include black-box testing, white-box testing, automated testing and support for user-based User Acceptance Testing, among others.
Establishing a rigorous system test regime will provide:
Improved quality of final system

Reduces risk of bugs and errors

Traceability between business needs and delivered system
