Key Management Service - KMS

The Microsoft Key Management Service provides product key information to Microsoft products using the MCCA agreements. The service uses a product key to verify the legitimacy of any Microsoft software before activating it.

For IT Providers: 


All Office products and operating systems should be activated against the campus KMS server. However, if someone is going to be away from campus for more than 180 days, the departmental IT staff will have to request a key from the Software License Coordination unit.
