Email Forwarding for Life

A service of IET

UC Davis offers an optional and complimentary service that will forward your mailid@ucdavis.edu email to an external email address of your choice (e.g., user@yahoo.com) after you have left the University. This forwarding service will apply only to new incoming email sent to your mailid@ucdavis.edu address after you register.

Features/Benefits:

Email forwarding allows you to keep your @ucdavis.edu email address after you have left the University.

Get Started:

After you have left the University, you will receive an email message with instructions on how to sign-up for Email Forwarding for Life.

Availability:

Graduating students and faculty who have retired or separated from UC Davis can register an external email address within 6 months from when you receive notification that your UC Davis mailbox will be deleted.

If you have separated from UC Davis and currently receive your mailid@ucdavis.edu email:

  • At an external ISP address (e.g., user@yahoo.com), you are already registered for the email forwarding service and will be given the opportunity to renew in two years.
  • Through a non-campus email server (i.e., user@department.ucdavis.edu), you are already registered for the email forwarding service and will be given the opportunity to renew in two years.
  • For students using a DavisMail account:  You do not need to use this forwarding service. After you graduate, you will retain free access to DavisMail; please visit http://alumni.ucdavis.edu/davismail at the UC Davis alumni Web site for details (you will not have to join the alumni association to use DavisMail). Your post-graduation account may start showing small text ads.

Please note that if you have an affiliation with the UC Davis Health System, you are not eligible for this service.
